I purchased my FF from the Medford Guy. Looked even better in person. Faced and flamed Ti with the contrast of the raw Ti in the grooves. Felt great in the hand. The butt/hammer ensures you have a nice impact tool and it also serves well to prevent you from losing your grip. Mine came with a Satin 3V blade that was scary sharp. Now, when I first tried to deploy the blade, it was stiff. I read that Medford’s use PB washers and have to be broken in. So during the NFL playoffs, I would watch football and flick this thing. I did add a drop of lubricant (forgive me Greg, for I have sinned). I blow it with compressed air after carrying to avoid dirt buildup though. It kept getting better and better. Now it is a sweet flipper. I must have flipped it 1000 times, Lock up is still early and detent is still great. Also the groove to manually open the knife works well both right handed and left handed (Lefties rejoice). Great job by Greg who is a gifted knife designer and the Medford crew for building a top notch knife. P.S. Amy does a great job explaining finishes and models on YouTube. If you are a Medford noob check them out. This knife was shown on one of her videos and I knew I had to have it.
Have to give the FF a 5 star, there is absolutely nothing that I can say about this folder that is negative. I have never seen construction and design like this on any folder before. The second I put it in my hand "Sold"... It may be a bit heavy for calorie and gram bean counters, but I think it is perfect for EDC, at least my style of EDC. Fits perfect in my hand and has a polished edge that will pop the hairs right off your arm. I could shave with this Blade. The pommel is literally a hammer. Bad Ass design Greg! It is now my favorite Medford, and that is saying a lot...my Praetorians will be jealous for sure.
Just wanted to tell you and your folks there in the shop, you guys and girls are freaking awesome!! Just bought one of your fighter flippers with a PVD blade, and all PVD handle. I call it my Black Beauty! You folks out did yourselves on this knife as I'm sure you do with all your knives. I'm not a terribly rich guy, and hate buying things that under achieves my expectations. This knife is quite the opposite, it's worth every penny I spent, and then some! I'm a retired MSgt working for the Test Pilot School out at Edwards AFB on the "One of a kind" VISTA F-16 aircraft, and I get how and why you build the way you do. Don't let the limp wristed heavy finger nailed suck maggots tell you otherwise, and continue building the knives you do! Love your knives, this won't be my last. Peace and God Bless all you fine Ladies and Gentlemen!
Wow! I had been waiting to go get them all week as I couldn’t make it to the store before they closed. I was opening the box as I was getting into the car. They both look and feel amazing! There are a few knife gurus here in my platoon that I will show the knifes to next week. Again I can’t say how nice they are and I am grateful for the gift. I will be showing them off and passing off the information on where they should shop for quality knifes. Thanks again!
