Start your RMA or Legacy request through the online form. Select the service type and describe the issue.

Pack & Ship

Once your request is confirmed, safely package your knife and ship it to Medford Knife & Tool in Phoenix, AZ.

Factory Service

The team in Phoenix receives your knife, assesses it, and performs the requested service at the factory.

Returned to You

Your serviced knife is shipped back to you. For Legacy services, you receive a full service record with the return.

Factory Sharpening

Sharpen Your Medford Knife
at the Factory

Medford Knife & Tool offers factory sharpening as part of the RMA service program. Your blade goes through the same facility and the same team that built it — sharpened to the factory specification for that model. Submit an RMA request to include sharpening with your service or as a stand-alone service.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most about the RMA and Legacy programs.

  • Submit your request online — RMA for standard service (sharpening, broken parts, pivot, adjustments) or Legacy Service for authentication, restoration, or reconfiguration. After submitting, you'll receive instructions on how and where to ship your knife.
  • RMA handles day-to-day service: factory sharpening, broken or missing parts, lock stick, blade/handle adjustments, and loose pivot or hardware. Legacy Service is for more involved work — authentication, certified resale, IR/RAN inspect/repair/replace, full restoration, and reconfiguration with consultation.
  • Yes — factory sharpening is one of the RMA services. Submit an RMA request to include sharpening with any other service, or as a stand-alone request. Your blade is sharpened by the same team and facility that built it.
  • The Medford Legacy Service program covers comprehensive knife services beyond standard RMA: authentication and inspection (for buying/selling), a certified resale program, IR/RAN (inspect, repair, and replace), full restoration and upgrade, and reconfiguration with consultation. It's designed for collectors, used market buyers, and owners wanting to bring an older knife back to spec.
  • Authentication and inspection is one of the Legacy Service offerings. If you're buying a used Medford and want factory verification, submit a Legacy Service request.
