History
The Medford 187 DPT was introduced around 2015, offering a more budget-friendly option for collectors and users seeking Medford's signature overbuilt quality. The '187' designation refers to the 3/16-inch blade stock, a defining characteristic that highlights its robust construction. At its launch, the base model was priced around $525.00, with various configurations and handle materials leading to prices up to $770.00 on retailer sites. The knife has seen several variants over its production run, often featuring different blade steels like D2 and S90V, and a variety of handle finishes and sculpting. As of the present, the Medford 187 DPT remains an active model in the company's product line, continuing to be available through the official Medford Knife & Tool website and authorized dealers.
