D-FMT

The D-FMT is an awesome tanto design that is ready for deployment or the field and is a spectacular entry into the high-end American hand-made genre of knives. All the blades in this series are the best bang for the buck in American, hand-made knives — not just within MKT but anywhere.

The D-FMT was produced as part of Medford Knife & Tool's Deployment Series, a four-model fixed blade lineup that also included the D-FM2 drop point, a dagger variant, and a small waist knife. The series was positioned as Medford's entry-level tier — designed and manufactured in Phoenix, AZ, with the same D2 blade steel and hand finishing found on flagship models, at a more accessible retail price (approximately $224.95 per retailer listings). The Deployment Series has since been discontinued from Medford's active lineup as the brand consolidated around premium steel fixed blade models. The D-FMT is now traded on the secondary knife market as a collectible from Medford's earlier production era.
