Designed for former Navy SEAL Craig "Sawman" Sawyer and carried on multiple television productions. Companion knives were produced for Sawyer's teammates. The Sawnto's complex machining and hand work deliver a simple, effective tool — multipurpose functionality and an aggressive sawback edge in a lightweight carry package.
The Medford Sawnto was first unveiled at the Blade Show in June 2013, developed specifically for Navy SEAL Craig "Sawman" Sawyer, who intended to use it in his television projects. The initial prototype featured S35VN steel with a primitive Vulcan finish. However, the production model transitioned to D2 Tool Steel, with plans to refine the aggressive sawback teeth for a more 'camp shore friendly' application. The knife was available through various retailers, including Blade HQ and KnifeCenter, under SKUs such as MKTSAWDOGBLK-1KBLK and MD28.
Over its production run, the Sawnto was offered with different handle materials, including OD Green G-10 and Black Textured G10, and typically featured a black oxide blade coating. The model has since been discontinued, as indicated by multiple retailers like Blade HQ, KnifeCenter, Lamnia, and OpticsPlanet, suggesting its production ceased around 2020.
