Thorn G
Story
The Medford Thorn is a compact fixed blade neck knife designed for deep concealable carry, embodying Medford Knife and Tool's reputation for overbuilt and rugged specifications. It was conceived as a practical, everyday carry tool, intended for hard use rather than being a collector's item. The knife features a robust design with a chisel ground Wharncliffe blade, known for its exceptional piercing capabilities. Early iterations of the Thorn featured skeletonized handles, but the design evolved to incorporate beefy milled G10 handles, enhancing grip and durability. Its simple lines contribute to ease of sharpening, making it a utilitarian and effective tool for various tasks.
Crafted with high-quality materials, the Thorn is built to withstand demanding conditions. The integral tang/handle construction ensures a solid and reliable structure. The knife's design prioritizes functionality and resilience, reflecting Medford's commitment to producing world-class edged items for combat, law enforcement, and everyday utility. The inclusion of G10 handles and a Kydex sheath further underscores its practical and tactical orientation, providing a secure grip and safe carry options for operators and enthusiasts alike.

History
The Medford Thorn was introduced around late 2019, with a YouTube video showcasing a 'work-in-progress' design in December 2019. Initial orders, such as one mentioned in a June 2020 unboxing video, experienced significant lead times, sometimes up to seven months. During its production, the design underwent an evolution; early models featured bare, skeletonized handles, which were later updated to include G10 handle scales. The knife was offered with CPM-S35VN stainless steel and a Black PVD finish. The Medford Thorn has since been discontinued, with retailers listing it as no longer available by 2021-2022.
